Will Cutting Down Calories Reduce Prostate Problems in Men


It has been proved that many diseases and ailments can be treated with proper diet. If calorie intake is properly monitored, it becomes possible to control some of the problems that the male body faces. If proper care is taken, many problems including the prostate problem in men can be cured with help of proper intake of calories.

Cutting Down Calories
Sometimes, body develops such problems that all kinds of food stuffs cannot be taken. It has been recommended that due to a certain problem, some food stuffs with high or low calorie content should be avoided keeping in mind the age and the kind of problem one faces. Such as during heart problem, one is asked to cut down fats and cholesterol as it is harmful for heart.

Prostate Problems
The prostate is a gland found in a male body located under the bladder and in front of the rectum. It secretes the fluid that provides half the fluid in semen and helps in transport of semen.

After an average age of 40 years, the prostate starts growing in every male. Some times it may be due to cancer. As it develops the prostate presses against the bladder and causes problem in urinating and other problems in men.

The male hormone associated with the growth of prostate cells is testosterone. The increasing percentage of testosterone in the male body leads to growth of prostate gland. According to studies, things like cigarettes and saturated fats are responsible for growth of prostate in men.

Reducing Prostate Problem by Cutting down Calories
According to modern investigations, various problems can be controlled by eating the recommended amount of calories. It not only saves one from facing complications but also lowers the risk of taking medication and its potential side effects. Prostate problem can also be avoided or controlled by cutting down the amount of calories one normally takes and sticking to a program that allows only a certain amount of calories.

The main thing to cut down is fat as it contains the highest amount of calories and it affects hormone levels that in turn cause prostate problems.
It is important for men to limit the account of beer and alcohol. One of the hormones that causes prostate is increased by the consumption of prostate.
Chocolates and cola drinks should be avoided as they have an adverse effects on prostate due to high calorie level.
Copper should be cut down, as it inflames prostate gland in men.
Foods rich in potassium should be avoided as they are full of fats and increase the risk of prostate, such as potatoes, banana, tomatoes and peanuts.
Thus, prostate problem can be controlled by cutting down some of the foods with high calorie content. By avoiding them, it becomes easier to bear the prostate problem and lead a better and healthy life.
